A large, sudden shift in the line — typically 10+ cents on the moneyline or half a point on the spread — detected at a single book or across multiple books at once. Sharp signals indicate professional (sharp) money hitting the market. Sharps are long-term winners whose action causes books to move their numbers quickly to limit exposure.

When multiple sportsbooks move their lines simultaneously in the same direction, it signals coordinated sharp action. Steam moves are harder to fade because they represent consensus among sharp bettors, not just one book reacting. Usually triggered by a syndicate or a widely-shared sharp opinion.

Line movement directly tied to a roster update — a starter scratch, a late injury report, or a pitcher change. These moves are information-driven rather than opinion-driven. If you see the line shift and a lineup change signal, the book already knows something the public doesn't.

Wind speed and direction at the stadium affect scoring in baseball. Wind blowing out (toward the outfield) suppresses pitching and inflates run totals — lean Over. Wind blowing in suppresses offense — lean Under. Only shown when wind exceeds 10 mph and is meaningful enough to matter.
